Must have PA Special Education Certification Austistic Support ClassroomUnder the general supervision of the School Principal, to maximize the learning experience of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, in academics, behavior, communication, social skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment. Essential Performance Responsibilities - Design and deliver quality instruction in a small group, differentiated format based on student level and need focusing on academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional growth
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to promote student learning and growth
- Conduct assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying learning issues, and recommend courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning
- Facilitate the IEP process for students and families
- Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring and compliance
- Develop Functional Behavioral Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans
- Assists students, paraprofessional staff, and teaching staff in implementing students' IEP's and behavior management plans.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families
- Collaborate with other professional staff and related service providers to coordinate services
Additional Duties - Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Qualifications - PA Special Education Certification (PK-8 or PK-12)
- Bachelor's degree in Education
- Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (preferred)
