The Office of Special Events & Donor Engagement collaborates with all Jefferson colleges, as well as, with various university and Jefferson Health departments to foster support for the programming, fundraising, outreach and engagement goals of Jefferson overall.For more information visit: giving.jefferson.edu Job Description (description fundamental job responsibilities and qualifications):The Special Events Team seeks a full or part-time, paid intern to assist with event logistics and successful event implementation to create enjoyable experiences at Jefferson. (100+ events per year, with over 4,200 guests per year). The position reports to the Director, Special Events and works with the Office of Special Events & Donor Engagement Team, Institutional Advancement at Jefferson. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: Event Planning Support (65%): Provide support for the logistical management and execution of special events and gift management; including assistance with small meetings, processing event registrations (on-line /paper), production of nametags, invitation mailings, administrative duties (agendas, timelines, mailing labels etc.), Raiser's Edge data input, website uploads, Day-of event support (greeter, registration desk, set-up, break-down). Physical Demands: Frequently Lifting, Carrying, Pushing/Pulling, and Sliding/Transferring up to 25 lbs. Special Event Customer Service (25% of time): Events telephone, online and email inquiries. (15% of time): Other tasks as assigned Hours: 40 hours/week, typical office hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (with a 1 hour mandatory lunch break). In office required . Qualifications - Candidates must be pursuing education or recent graduates; focus on communications, marketing, journalism, hospitality management or a related discipline preferred.
- Interest in the nonprofit field preferred.
- Working knowledge of the web and social networks.
- Proficiency in all standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel knowledge required).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail.
- A collaborative spirit, a flexible attitude and a positive outlook.
- Basic graphics experience, including editing images in Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
- Experience in working events (registration, set-up and breakdown, photography) is a plus.
- Confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Presentation skills which includes but not limited to the following items; professional dress/business attire, excellent personal grooming, excellent verbal and written communication skills
