Position Summary

The Finance Department at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science invites applications for a full-time AR Specialist. The AR Specialist will be responsible for invoicing, collections, and other accounting duties for the Finance Department. This role will work independently under the supervision of the Controller.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Perform accounts receivable activities for the University, excluding receivables from students

* Provide accounting for receivables in accordance with GAAP

* Responsible for reporting and for identifying and implementing process improvements for all third-party billings

* Perform a broad scope of accounting functions including preparation of journal entries, invoicing, account reconciliation, interpretation of financial data and account analysis

* Review and audit University travel and entertainment expenditures for adherence to University policies and procedures

* Serve as co-administrator for SAP Concur (expense reimbursement system)

* Prepare original and correcting general ledger journal entries, as requested

* Prepare cost transfer journal entries to the general ledger, as requested

* Perform account analysis, ensuring any unreconciled items are researched and resolved in a timely manner

* Apply cash receipts to the proper general ledger account

* Adhere to internal controls while driving continuous process and documentation improvement

* Create and maintain appropriate filing systems, including physical and electronic records

* Build strong relationships with departments across the University and Health Clinics

* Contribute to the success of the University by performing all other duties as assigned

Required Education & Experience

* High school diploma or GED equivalent

* Two years of experience in a related accounting position or related field

* Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check

* Must have proof of covid19 vaccination or a university approved exemption

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree
