Job Profile SummaryUnder limited supervision, employee works independently, making decisions and finding solutions to problems evoked within the area of his/her realm of responsibility. Individual has responsibilities for the operations, monitoring and safe and efficient operation of the tool room, shops, and hangar and ramp areas. Individual coordinates the operations of the tool room including ordering, issuing, inventorying and controlling of special tools, parts, equipment, and consumables for faculty and students. Monitors, and performs minor maintenance on BC facilities and maintenance training aids. Performs related work as directed.This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans' Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295. Minimum Education:- Associates degree required.
Minimum Experience/Training:- Three years of relevant experience.
- Experience required is within field or closely related field.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
Minimum Certification/Licenses:- FAA Airframe & Power plant certificate preferred
Essential Functions:- Daily - 25%: Coordinates the operation of the tool room, shops and hanger and ramp areas.
- Daily - 5%: Orders, issues, inventories and controls tools, parts, equipment and consumables.
- Daily - 5%: Tracks stock and expenditures via a computerized inventory tracking process.
- Daily - 5%: Initiates purchase requisitions, reviews payment of invoices and monitors parts, stock and equipment.
- Daily - 5%: Enters repair orders and keeps maintenance records.
- Daily - 5%: Monitors, accomplishes and maintains records and documentation for the proper storing and disposal of hazardous material and waste produced.
- Daily - 10%: Organizes, cleans and maintains workshop area. Insures hangar, tool room, ramp and related areas are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner.
- Daily - 5%: Performs minor maintenance and clean-up on BC equipment, facilities, and training aids.
- Daily - 10%: Monitors lab safety and compliance within his/her area of responsibility. FAR 147 for Aviation.
- Daily - 5%: Assists faculty and students in setting up of lab projects.
- Daily - 3%: Maintains and updates Maintenance & Safety related technical documents and data to include MSDS related materials.
- Daily - 2%: Occasionally procures parts, equipment, tooling and office supplies locally but off premises.
- Daily - 10%: Identifies aircraft, engine and component parts and their availability utilizing illustrated parts catalogs, aircraft, and engine manuals, CD Rom and on line sources.
- Daily - 5%: Performs other duties as directed by supervisor(s).
