Southwire Job DescriptionJob Summary/Objective: Inventory Specialist II is responsible for managing the sub-processes related to inventory and inbound within the site's value stream. The focus of the Inventory Specialist will be to ensure operations withing the site's value stream is not impacted by inventory inaccuracy or inbound abnormalities.
Key Responsibilities: * Utilization of lean tools, LSW, problem solving huddles and DHP in support of the value stream. * Development and implementation of corrective actions resulting from problem solving huddles. * Evaluation of quality KPIs to ensure the correct metric is being tracked as well as alignment with corporate initiatives. * Collaboration with other site inventory support as well as functional support to ensure consistency of best practices within the CSCs. * Development/Sustainment of the site's inventory accuracy. * Provide monthly site review to all employees and leadership. * Partner with supervision to provide employee feedback related to performance. * Partner with VSM, and Lean Specialist to implement and execute on facility modernization efforts related to all inventory enhancements. (Slotting, racking layout). * Partner with Quality and Lean Specialists to manage the scrap portion of COPQ. * Partner with engineering to ensure site level needs are being reviewed and remedied.
Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates:
* Bachelor's degree preferred in distribution, logistics, business administration or related degree. * 5+ years directly related experience in distribution management or related field preferred. * A working knowledge of warehouse systems is required. * Ability to function and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced operating environment is critical. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills required. * Must be able to interface and communicate effectively within the organization, with business units throughout the company, and with partners across the supply chain. * Must be a strong team player with a firm, personal commitment toward the business and its customers. * Must be PC literate and have a good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
