SPECIALTY BARTENDER OVERVIEW In addition to the Bartender responsibilities listed below, the Specialty Bartender will be the main point of service and cocktail preparation in the 15th Floor Club Bar. This role is specific to the 15th floor program and concept. The Specialty Bartender is responsible for shepherding and curating a bespoke experience focused on high quality, rare, and niche spirits and services.
This position has an hourly rate of $16 + Tips. BARTENDER OVERVIEW The Bartender maintains all bar environment and equipment. The Bartender is responsible for ensuring the bar area is clean and tidy. They will proactively assist and drive the guest experience, assist with navigating the menus, wine list, liquor and cocktails, take guests orders, anticipate guests' needs and address them accordingly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Available to work and oversee daily bar operations full-time.
- Responsible for mixing drinks, serving drinks, serving food, cleaning bar, setting up and breaking down the bar, following recipes and adhering to DOH standards.
- Submitting daily requisition list to shift beverage manager.
- Daily check, assistance when necessary, and confirmation of barback prep list (syrups and juices)
- Complete a daily inventory based on the request and routine as established by the Director of Bars
- Assist creatively in beverage creation and execution.
- Contribute to bar team and general staff education.
- Enforce consistency in drink execution, presentation, and service.
Follow company steps of service including:
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area at all times, ensure bar area is well stocked with supplies and beverages including:
- Clean and organized bar area continuously; restock bar with clean glasses.
- Clean counters, floors, shelves, and refrigerators; remove trash.
- Check coolers and shelves to ensure proper stocking of beer, wine, liquor,
and all beverages; stock bar with ice as needed.
- Check for supplies such as sugar, salt, stir sticks, straws, napkins as per
specified inside work list.
- Requisition of additional supplies as needed.
- Cut fruit and garnishes; retrieve special garnishes from kitchen.
- Assist, when necessary, in preparation of coffee and tea.
- Oversee and assist barback in the preparation of syrups and juices.
- Greet and serve all guests who may be seated at tables, as well as the bar on the 15th floor in a friendly and courteous manner and explain, as necessary, any specials and/or bar promotions.
- Record the details of the order from guests, repeating as necessary, to check for accuracy.
- Prepare drinks in accordance with the guest's order.
- Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
- Present an accurate check to the guest when asked, collect and process payment.
- Keep track of guest alcohol consumption in accordance with New York State Liquor Laws and ensure that all alcohol is appropriately accounted for and stored.
- Receive, open, maintain, and close bar bank at end of shift.
- Handle, process and settle all cash payment and transactions from bar and lounge.
- At the end of the shift deliver all checks and reports to the appropriate manager according to company rules.
- Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything.
- Wish every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming.
- All other responsibilities assigned by management.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to management.
- Provide excellent service at all times to all of our guests. Assist guests courteously and efficiently.
- Respond to all guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction, and information as requested when working in public areas.
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage to best service and up sell our product, including liquors and cocktails.
- Assist any Bar and Lobby Lounge cocktail server in lounge when necessary.
- Attend all food and beverage training classes.
- Follow the posted opening and closing duties and side work sheet.
- Attend daily pre meal and communication meeting.
- Attend monthly department meeting.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS - 5 years' experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar stand-alone restaurant or bar setting
- Positive, engaging, and energetic personality.
- Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision.
- Very high attention to detail
- Sensitive to cultural nuances
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English
- Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to carry, push, and pull heavy loads up to 30 lbs; standing, bending and lifting will be required.
