Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, FTE 1.0, 1st shift position. Day shift work schedule, 8:00am or 9:00am start time, no weekends or holidays. Hours may vary based on department needs. You may be eligible for up to a $2,500 sign-on bonus. You will work at East Madison Hospital.

We are seeking a Phlebotomist to:

Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages.

  • Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
  • Complete specimen receiving and specimen processing.
  • Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Some post-secondary education in a healthcare or a related science field that may include course work in Medical Laboratory Technician, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnician or Medical Laboratory Scientist degree/certification Preferred

Work Experience

  • 6 months experience in lab, healthcare, customer service or data entry role Required
  • 1 year healthcare or lab related work experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • High level communication skills and the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Competence in problem identification and resolution.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of laboratory medicine and universal precautions preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred
