Job SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Director of Special Education, assess and provide therapy to communicatively handicapped students and assist and direct students in developing expressive and receptive speech and language skills.Requirements / QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •Possess a valid California Credential authorizing language and speech instruction; •A Master of Arts Degree in speech and language therapy; •Two (2) years of experience as a speech and language pathologist in a public school setting, including one (1) year of experience working with children birth to age 5 preferred. •Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver's License; •Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance. Participation in this plan is mandatory for employees working 35 plus hours a week. Employee will be a member of the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS) and may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
