Job Description Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist Position Type: Full-Time Equivalent (1.0 FTE) School Year: 2025-2026 Location: District-wide, Possible work in neighboring districts Reports To: Director of Special Education and School Principals Summary: The Crescent School District is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. This 1.0 FTE position provides Speech Language Pathology services to students throughout the district, including evaluations, interventions, and support for classroom teachers in providing communication interventions in the classroom. To make this position full-Time some of the time may be contracted out to another school district in the area. Or if qualified and willing to serve other duties within Special Education, the position could be full time in the Crescent School District. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Participate as a team member with responsibility for the identification, eligibility, and placement of communication-disordered special education students. 2. Assist in the development and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for assigned students and modifications of instructional programs to meet individual student needs. 3. Participate with district staff to cooperatively develop effective strategies for improving student learning. 4. Provide positive assistance and guidance to a diverse population. 5. Maintain student records, including special education reports, sensitive confidential records, assessment data, essential learnings data, cumulative records, orders, and inventory, in a timely and orderly fashion. 6. Provide in-services to district staff regarding speech and language needs. 7. Conduct speech screenings for potential referral to special education assessment for determination of eligibility. 8. Consult with physicians and other agencies of the community regarding referrals and mutual exchange of information. 9. Work cooperatively with district staff in an atmosphere of cooperation and collegiality. 10. Provide speech and language therapy in direct and consultative models to students through a variety of mediums, including video conferencing and tele-therapy. 11. Uphold and assist in enforcing administrative regulations and board policy. 12. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect children, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. 13. Participate in district Childfind events. Minimum Qualifications: •Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. •Washington State ESA Certification in Speech Language Pathology. •Candidates with a Minimum of three years successful experience as a Speech Language Pathologist is preferred. •Demonstrated understanding of essential requirements within IDEA and its application to the provision of compliant services for the disabled. •Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of parents, teachers, and administrators in providing direct and indirect services to students with disabilities in a confidential manner. •Ability to express thoughts concisely and effectively. Preferred Qualifications: •Knowledge of sign language and augmentative communication. •Experience with video conferencing and tele-therapy models. •Familiarity with the Washington State Learning Standards. •Prior experience in a rural school district setting. Compensation: The position is paid as per the negotiated agreement with the Crescent Education Association.
