Duties and Responsibilities: Administration and Organization
- Develop and implement student discipleship plan, with emphasis on discipleship of lower school, middle school and upper school aged students
- Model Christ for and mentoring of students
- Assist the Spiritual Development Team with the overall chapel program (PK-12th grades) for assigned campus
- Assist the Spiritual Development Team with Bible Study Method training
- Coordinate and communicate with faculty and staff for weekly chapel and Advisory Groups
- Attend at required meetings, as necessary: Divisional and Institute
- Assist with Spiritual Development activities and events as needed
- Meet with individual faculty, parents and students for counseling and/or mentoring
- Assist divisional principals in the implementation/oversight of a plan that assists parents in the discipleship of students as new believers in Jesus Christ.
- Attend appropriate committee meetings and extra school-sponsored functions
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Spiritual Development
- Promote the church-school partnership
- Attend monthly divisional student review
- Faculty support and communication
- Research schools, program, and curriculum as needed
Assists with the Following Yearly Events per Divisional Needs/Programming:Chapel
- Teaching rotation
- Chapel music
- Oversees and directs the Chapel band
- Secures Chapel speakers
- Develops and communicates weekly Chapel agenda
Activities
- Assist other departments with planning, executing and student involvement of several PCA events. Events including but are not limited to retreat, Minimester, Junior Senior Banquet, World Impact Day, See you at the Pole, Service Day, and National Day of Prayer
Small Group/Life Skills
- Advisory Group training and communication
- 4th Grade break out teaching
- Middle School Discipleship Programs (Pride of Brother/Society of Sister)
- Senior Bible Study
- Student Discipleship PreK-12th
- Weekly meeting with Chaplains
- 7-12th grade Evangelism and Discipleship Courses
QualificationsQualifications:
- Biblical knowledge and support of PCA doctrinal beliefs
- Respect for authority and desire to serve HOS and divisional administrators in order to create school-wide unity of purpose
- Must have demonstrated, successful experience in male discipleship
- Knowledge and experience with technology: school database, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point
- Organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to connect with students and encourage student involvement
- Ability to create events, retreats, programs, themes, etc...that are fun, relevant, Christ-honoring and well attended
- Prestonwood Baptist Church member required
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:
- Regularly sitting at the computer requiring repetitive finger motion and manual dexterity
- Up to several hours of walking and standing during event set-up and execution
- Subject to working more than required hours during event execution
- Ability to manage multiple coinciding projects
- Close visual acuity required for viewing a computer monitor, researching institutional programming, and reading
- Hearing - ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
- Talking - expressing ideas by means of the spoken word to convey instructions to students, parents and other workers
- Ability to communicate effectively, even in stressful situations as position requires multi-tasking and frequent interruptions
- Driving to Plano and North campus required weekly and periodic driving to events
- Business casual appearance and dress required, as this person is often meeting with parents or in a visual role
- Works primarily in a traditional climate controlled office environment with occasional outside travel between buildings or hosting a few outside events throughout the year
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and helping with stage designs
