The sports activities assistant will have a wide range of responsibilities associated with the land of wellness sports complex. Work environment includes building and ground maintenance, environment and outdoor weather conditions including extreme temperatures. The job is occasionally exposed to hazardous chemicals, light/medium/heavy equipment, power equipment and noisy equipment. Will be working nights, weekends, which may include holidays. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan, and implement youth sports programs as assigned.
- Report staff successes and/or issues to Wellness Director.
- Ensure sufficient staff-to-participant ratios for assigned programs and personally cover shifts if necessary.
- Maintain good public relations and open communication with participants & parents.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of all equipment and facilities utilized by programs.
- Responsible for opening and closing at each game/event.
- Ability to organize and track inventory.
- Promptly respond to all emergency situations by adhering to the current emergency procedure guidelines.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with adults, youth, and other community service providers.
- Knowledge of sports. Officiate seasonal sports programs and comprehend, interpret and enforce all appropriate rules for the activity/sport.
- Assist with concessions stand as needed.
- Works hand in hand with sports coordinator.
- Works during special events and tournaments.
- Serves as a positive role model to youth and the community.
- Prepares incident reports accurately, consistently and in accordance with established timelines. Communicate to supervisor in writing, accident and discipline situations which require corrective actions. Seek guidance from supervisor in unusual circumstances.
- Responsible for data collecting regarding each activity/event, number of participants and able to furnish a monthly statistical and narrative report.

QualificationsQualifications/Skills
- Must possess a high school diploma or verifiable GED certificate.
- Minimum of one year of related work preferred.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Must be reliable, punctual and able to perform job duties independently.
- Possess planning, development, and advanced organizational skills.
- Strong Communication Skills
- Certifications that must be obtained and maintained within first 90 days: CPR, AED, First Aid.
- Be able to respond to emergency situations such as accidents, injuries, and disruptive behaviors of youth and adults.
- Must have valid driver's license and must be able to meet driver's eligibility guidelines.
- Be widely recognized as a positive health role model to the community: drug and alcohol free.

Training Requirements:
- First Aid, CPR, and AED
- Must attend all meeting and training courses as directed by Director.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal to heavy work which includes the ability to lift up over 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
