Job Objective:As the Sports League Coordinator you will plan, organize, coordinate and direct diverse athletic and recreational programs for youth and adults. Evaluate new sports programming opportunities for the Kroc Center, instruct coaches and officials on techniques, rules, and regulations; and serve as liaison to the recreation community to promote goodwill for the Kroc Center ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out. What You Will Do:
- Plan, develop, organize, and promote athletic/recreational programs to meet community needs and interests including sports, intramurals and activities including but not limited to baseball, basketball, football, pickleball, soccer, softball, tennis, and other community-based athletic programming
- Directly supervises all coaches and volunteers for the Sports Division
- Serve as liaison to partners by managing facility usage agreements, coordinating game schedules, use of facilities, background checks, ensuring compliance to the Sports Operating Policies and Inclement Weather Policies
- Work collaboratively with internal and external customers; communicate effectively and proactively with parents, school personnel, and community partners to keep stakeholders informed, answer questions, and address concerns
- Responsible for scheduling and renting use of athletic fields and recreational facilities maintained and coordinates with partners to ensure adequate facilities to meet programming needs
- Provide outstanding customer service through responsive, clear and appropriate communication regarding general inquiries, requests or complaints from the public concerning use of athletic facilities, programming, and activities; identifies issues and resolves problems.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience which, at the sole discretion of The Salvation Army, provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform in this role, will be considered Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed. Experience: 2+ years of experience in sports league management, recreation, or program coordination preferredCertifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm and CPR Certification within the first 30 days of employment Skills/Abilities:
- Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
- Thorough understanding of all related sports activities
