Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Ignition/MS SQL Developer for an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity in Asheville, NC. This role will focus on developing Ignition SCADA applications, integrating with SQL databases, and supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Ignition, SQL, and Python in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ignition Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Ignition applications, dashboards, and HMIs.
  • Configure and manage Ignition Gateways, projects, and tags.
  • Integrate Ignition with PLCs, OPC servers, and other industrial devices.
  • Implement Python scripting and automation within Ignition.

  • SQL Server Development:
  • Design and optimize database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
  • Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues.
  • Implement data integration solutions, including ETL processes.

  • Integration & Data Analytics:
  • Integrate Ignition data with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Create real-time data analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Enhance system functionality with APIs and third-party integrations.

  • Collaboration & Maintenance:
  • Work with cross-functional teams, providing training and technical support.
  • Ensure documentation of all development activities and system configurations.
  • Monitor system performance, implement updates, and troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience with the Ignition SCADA platform (Ignition 8.1 preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server (database design, T-SQL scripting, and optimization).
  • Python scripting experience, especially within Ignition.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, BACnet).

Preferred:

  • Experience in manufacturing, process control, or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of Ignition Perspective and Vision modules.
  • Understanding of network architecture and IT/OT convergence.
  • Ignition or MS SQL Server certifications.

Key Details:

  • Working Hours: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM (50 hours per week, Overtime Paid)
  • Candidate Requirements: US Citizen or Green Card Holder (Due to ITAR regulations)
  • Work Environment: Clean, quiet shop floor.
