SR. ACCOUNTANT - Federal Signal Corporation : Job Details

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the following monthly activities:

* Develop monthly journal entries.

* Upload financial information to Cognos.

* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.

* Prepare journal entries and reconcile intercompany transactions.

* Responsible for fixed asset accounting activities and maintaining fixed asset data in BNA software.

* Assist in the development of the SOX controls and audits.

* Assist in audits performed by internal audit and external audit firms.

* Complete required schedules requested by the Corporate Tax department.

* Develop and provide required tax reporting such as for sales/use tax, business tax, etc.

* Provide back-up for Payroll processing.

* Assist other divisions on temporary assignments as required.

* Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements within the Accounting/Finance departments.

* Perform other duties, assignments and special projects that may be required.

Position Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.

* MBA and/or CPA or CMA certificate is preferred.

* 7-10 years of accounting experience required.

* Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired.

* Proficiency and advanced knowledge of Excel required.

* Daily working knowledge of MS Office Suite required (including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

* Experience with JDE is preferred.

* Experience using Cognos is preferred.
