OVERVIEW:

The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for accurately performing general accounting tasks, including account analysis, reconciliations, budget variance analysis, and other assignments. This is accomplished by gaining an in-depth understanding of the areas assigned and working cross-functionally.

Under our CRFlex program, this is a hybrid position and is eligible for remote work up to 80%. The successful candidate must reside within 75 miles of one of our main office location in Yonkers, NY.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

You will analytically review assigned sections or departments of the monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy. This includes recording monthly journal entries that are properly prepared and supported. You will perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring that there is adequate supporting documentation for both the activity and the ending balance of these accounts.

The Senior Analyst will identify or unusual variance, such as actual vs budget difference, and ensure that these variances are thoroughly documented. Additionally, they will prepare and analyze year end audit schedules as required and develop a strong understanding of accounting guidance relevant to the nonprofit publishing industries.

ABOUT YOU:

Youll Be Highly Rated If:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance, or related field (may be substituted for relevant education and/or experience)
  • You have strong analytical skills
  • You have at least 5 years experience in Finance or related field
  • You are proficient in an accounting software
  • You have a good understanding of GAAP Accounting and financial reporting
  • You have the ability and commitment to building and maintaining relationships in order to support and enhance personal, team, and organizational work

  • MBA and CMA Certification, with experience in auditing and accounting specifically in the publishing and non-profit sectors, as well as public auditing firm experience

The target salary range for this position is $81k to $83k. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range.
