With more than 3,100 team members located across 14 different states, we are a big company with a small company culture.Indiana Packers Corporation is in Delphi, Indiana, just 15 minutes away from the greater Lafayette/West Lafayette area, home of Purdue University.Position Summary: The Sr. Accounts Payable & Credit Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 4-5 employees. The selected individual will have excellent leadership and proven team building capabilities. Responsibilities will include accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within IPC to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. The selected manager will also be overseeing the credit operations, ensuring that credit policies are adhered to, and managing the company's credit portfolio.Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor and continue to develop team members by providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Assessing creditworthiness, managing risk, and maintaining relationships with clients, while ensuring that the company's financial interests are protected through sound credit decisions.
  • Verifies customer credit limits and applicable payment terms.
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) departments, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and collections.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the AP/AR operations.
  • Provide insights and strategic decisions that affect the AP/AR department based on data analysis.
  • Ensures project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Manage the month end and year end closing processes for AP/AR, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to AP/AR.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of AP/AR systems and software, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit management or financial risk management; plus 3+ years in a management position with direct reports.
  • Industry experience with manufacturing organizations greater than 1 billion dollars in revenue. CPG or food and beverage preferred.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and team building skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced data analysis tools.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to work under ambiguous environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
