Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with a strong background in alternative investments to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various alternative investment vehicles, such as private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and commodities, along with the analytical skills to support strategic decision-making. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data, and provide actionable insights that drive business growth and enhance our product offerings.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY / Alpharetta, GA is $115k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to alternative investments from stakeholders across the organization.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the alternative investments space.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, investment analysts, and other stakeholders to develop investment strategies and performance metrics.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user stories.
  • Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of alternative investment products and strategies.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of technology solutions that support alternative investment operations and reporting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices related to alternative investments.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the financial services or alternative investments sector.
  • Strong understanding of alternative investment products (e.g., private equity, hedge funds, real estate) and associated financial metrics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau) and experience with financial modelling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to alternative investments is advantageous.
