- The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for providing operational and development support to the organization.
- Responsibilities including meeting with application project teams to consult on the development of projects, reorganizing database when needed, monitoring and analysing database performance and usage patterns, and evaluate tools and software.

- This individual will be looked at to assess and make recommendations for selecting new tools or software and they will lead the development and documentation of standards for the use, control, updating and maintenance of a database.
- It is essential that the DBA have experience across backup and recovery, performance monitoring, tuning and storage management so that they can assist with developing data processes, optimize performance and troubleshoot and resolve any database issues.

Senior DBA job description
- 5-7 years' experience with DB2 UDB 11.x
- 5-7 years' experience as SQL developer.
- Demonstrable experience with analysing complex stored procedures.
- Extensive experience with database performance tuning including stored procedures.
- Solid knowledge of IBM DB2 UDB and technical database concepts, such as: logical relational data modelling, physical data modelling, tuning large instances, resource management, data replication and backup/recovery techniques.
- Experience evaluating and implementing new UDB features to address business requirements.
- Experience in LINUX/UNIX Korn Shell scripting
