Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Desktop Support Technician to work out of our West Allis, WI office. This role involves providing advanced support for hardware and software on all desktops and laptops. Support all users on helpdesk matters, manage Active Directory (AD) administration, and contribute to networking tasks. The ideal candidate possesses experience with Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager, and demonstrates the ability to work independently, manage tasks effectively, and follow through on project completions.

Essential Duties

* Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, servers, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.

* Have advanced knowledge of upgrading and patching Windows systems.

* Manage and maintain user accounts in Active Directory, including user provisioning, permissions, and group policies.

* Maintain passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.

* Add new users to all platforms.

* Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network connectivity issues and collaborate with networking teams, as necessary.

* Manage desktop management solutions, including Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager.

* Develop and maintain documentation for support processes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.

* Collaborate with other IT teams to identify and implement improvements in processes and systems.

* Recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.

* Conduct regular system audits and software updates to ensure compliance and security.

* Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and effective communication with users throughout the support process.

* Support DHCP, DNS, and VLAN configurations.

* Maintain asset tracking systems and oversee the lifecycle management of IT assets. Conduct regular audits of inventory.

Education and Required Experience

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

* 5+ years of experience in desktop support or a related IT support role.

* Strong proficiency in Active Directory administration and user management.

* Experience with Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager.

* Solid understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.

* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are preferred.

* Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for task automation.

* Experience with remote support tools and methodologies.

* Knowledge of ITIL or similar frameworks is a plus.

* Working knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).

* Previous Sr. Helpdesk experience preferred.

The employee must able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
