CBS Digital is looking for a Senior Director of Digital Product & Operations. This role will drive the strategy and execution of product and operational frameworks to support a digital product portfolio. This individual will work at the intersection of product management, technology, business operations, and customer experience to ensure efficient workflows, timely delivery, and continuous improvement. They will own key operational metrics and coordinate teams responsible for product launch readiness, prioritization, performance tracking, and cross-functional coordination. The CBS Digital Senior Director Product & Operations will work with collaborators across CBS Sports, News and Entertainment as well as many groups across the broader Paramount ecosystem. This role requires a strategic problem solver with a track record of driving operational perfection and delivering digital products in a fast-paced environment.
As the Sr. Director of Digital Product and Operations for CBS, you will set and own the vision for the next generation of CBS branded products across all our platforms. This position will play a key role in defining rolling out product tools, standards and operations across the CBSD organization!
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Develop and execute the operational strategy to support digital product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. Partner with product, engineering, marketing, and business leaders to define and prioritize operational initiatives.
- Create frameworks for resource planning, capacity management, and portfolio prioritization.
- Build and refine workflows to optimize the delivery lifecycle from ideation to post-launch, including planning, execution, QA, and ongoing maintenance.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor product performance, velocity, and operational health; drive data-informed decision-making.
- Lead risk management processes, identifying and mitigating blockers that may impact delivery timelines or product quality.
- Evaluate and implement tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, using industry standard methodologies and emerging trends.
- Advocate for customer-centric approaches to ensure all operational efforts prioritize user satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between product, engineering, marketing, customer support, and other teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Oversee launch readiness processes, coordinating with stakeholders to deliver seamless product rollouts.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, visibility, and accountability across teams.
Product Development & Delivery
- Lead product management efforts across a portfolio of digital products, ensuring clear achievements, deliverables, and accountability.
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, aligning timelines and resources with business priorities.
- Ensure cross-team dependencies are well-coordinated and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and planning to delivery and optimization.
- Lead product discovery efforts, ensuring that customer insights and data analytics inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure products are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
Performance Tracking and Optimization:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of data management products.
- Analyze product usage data, customer feedback, and market trends to find opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Iterate on product features and functionality based on feedback and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or an equivalent (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in product ops, product management, or business operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Solid understanding of product development processes and lifecycle management.
- Expertise in data analysis, process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and project management tools.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Sports/News/Entertainment space across the media industry.
- Creative problem solver, using emerging technologies such as AI to investigate efficiencies in workflows along with technology leadership.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical partners.
- A passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in product operations, governance, strategy, standards and modeling.
