Job Title:Embedded Software Engineer – C++Job Code: 20604Job Location: Rochester, NYJob Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday offJob Description:The Senior Specialist, Software Engineering, designs, develops and extensively tests complex engineering solutions for advanced tactical radio operating system and waveform software.Works closely with cross-functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle.Essential Functions:Proficient with embedded C/C++, object-oriented design, real-time, multi-threaded programmingExperience with real-time operating systems (e.g. VxWorks RTOS, Linux, QNX)Ability to quickly analyze and understand large and complex existing software systemsAbility to develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentationAbility to identify, track, and repair software defectsAbility to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environmentAbility to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideasMust be able to obtain a US security clearanceQualifications:Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in embedded software engineering.Preferred Additional Skills:Experience with Git/BitbucketExperience with continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins)Experience with the Agile methodologyExperience with wireless networking software system design and developmentFamiliarity with RF concepts and technologyIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $95,000 - $177,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
