Job Description SummaryPerforms a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing preventative maintenance/general maintenance on university building systems. The hours for this 4-day, 10-hour position are Wednesday through Saturday, 3:30 pm to 1:30 am.Job DescriptionEssential Duties:Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials neededPerforms repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptaclesServes as informational resource to staffPlans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance programCleans and maintains tools and equipmentMay assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special eventsMinimum Qualifications:Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires driver's license.Additional Position Information (if applicable)Required Knowledge‚ Skills‚ and Abilities:Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenanceKnowledge of mechanical repairAbility to read schematicsContinuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting of materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
