Company: Precision DrillingLocation: Brighton, ColoradoSummaryReporting to the Manager, Electrical Systems, the Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising field technicians and overseeing the daily operations of the electrical team.
Responsibilities - Oversee the complete wiring of the rig electrical installations and follow-througthe h to start-up and commissioning of the rigs electrical systems
- Supervision of the electrical drives and controls installation and commissioning of a multi-rig build project
- Provide training, advice, guidance, and leadership to solve problems with electrical systems on operating rigs; travel to rig as needed
- Assist with the design of future AC drilling rig drive and electrical systems
- Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD as well as correct and produce Red Lines
- Perform various power calculations (short circuit studies, arc flash analysis, cable sizing...)
- Develop accurate materials lists and assist with product procurement and purchasing of electrical material
- Guide the electrical team during rig construction
- Ensure all of Precision's wiring preferences are met and maintained
- This person will be overseeing approximately 15-40 contractors I/C personal
Knowledge & Skills - The ideal candidate will have superior attention to detail, ability to multi-task, the willingness to take ownership of projects and job tasks that arise and will have safe work practices
- Good communication skills are essential
- Must be able to work well with others while under minimal supervision
Experience - Minimum of 5 years experience with the electrical components of rig construction as a foreman or manager is required
- Familiar with the assembly of drilling rig drive houses
- Experience with Electric Motor Controls, VFD interconnects
- Full Knowledge of Power Generation, Distribution, and Generator Control Systems
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Associated Office Applications (MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Auto Cad)
- Working knowledge of the pertaining API electrical practices relating to land-based drilling rigs
