DescriptionSummary: The senior F5 load balancer engineer's primary responsibility is to support the network engineering team with daily operations and lead engineering designs and architectural improvements within the LTM/GTM infrastructure.   • Translate functional business requirements into a technical solution that conforms to internal design standards.
  • Excellent understanding of LTM/GTM configuration (VIPs, Persistence, SNAT, SSL, custom health monitors, etc.).
  • Experience in writing and troubleshooting complex iRules.
  • Intermediate knowledge of networking and systems administration; and the ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting tools, such as: tcpdump, logs, curl, and Wireshark.
  • Knowledge of http protocol versions, headers, methods, and status codes.
  • Availability during evenings and weekends for P1 issues and scheduled change controls.
The engineering team collaborates with the web development and other technical teams to engineer services utilized by the F5 infrastructure as well as other traditional network environments. Other areas of responsibilities for this position are:
  • Domain purchases and maintenance.
  • Certificate Management for F5 and non-F5 deployments.
  • Assist with F5 Cloud API platform.
  • DNS expertise such as using ZoneRunner, configuring and renewing DNSSEC, updating DNS options such as DKIM records, and configuring WideIP.
  • Maintaining and configuring BigIQ.
  • Developing/maintaining custom alerting beneficial to identifying application performance issues (C# or Python programming).
  • Documenting F5 application diagrams and troubleshooting guides.
  • On-call for critical maintenance and deployments.
Qualifications:
  • 8 + years of Network engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an area of technology and/or F5 BigIP certification.
  • Professional networking certifications, such as CCNP, are desirable.
  • Experience in architecting, implementing, and supporting critical enterprise level LAN and WAN technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and change focus as needed.
  • Ability to maintain precise documentation and network diagrams.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range between $102,000 (min) and $135,000 (max)
  • In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus eligibility with a target payout of 10%, based on company and individual performance
