POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Payroll & HRIS Manager will oversee the end-to-end payroll operations and ensure the integrity, optimization, and accuracy of the organization's UKG HRIS system. In this role, you will oversee payroll processing, compliance, reporting, and will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the HRIS platform to improve People Operations efficiency and data integrity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline HR processes and support organizational growth in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll Management

  • Payroll Processing & Oversight: Lead and manage the payroll function for 600+ employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in payroll operations.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and company policies. Manage payroll audits, year-end reporting, and tax documentation.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as the primary escalation point for payroll inquiries, providing exceptional support to employees for any payroll-related questions or issues.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce payroll policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

HRIS Management

  • System Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the HRIS, ensuring system functionality aligns with business processes. Lead regular system updates, data audits, and maintenance.
  • Data Integrity & Reporting: Ensure accuracy and integrity of all HR data within the system, developing and refining reporting capabilities for People Operations metrics, payroll reporting, and compliance audits.
  • System Optimization: Collaborate with the People Operations, Finance, and IT teams to drive enhancements, integrations, and automation within the HRIS to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility.
  • Training & Support: Train HR team members and employees on HRIS functionality and self-service capabilities, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting as needed.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor payroll and HRIS team members, providing guidance on best practices, compliance, and technical skills.
  • Cross-functional Partnerships: Work closely with People Operations, Finance, IT, and other departments to align payroll and HRIS initiatives with organizational goals and compliance needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, HR, Information Systems, or a related field; CPP and/or SHRM-SCP/CP certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in payroll and HRIS management, with hands-on experience in multi-state payroll and complex HRIS administration.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in UKG payroll and HRIS system. Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with HRIS reporting and integrations.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of payroll regulations, state tax setup, HRIS best practices, data integrity, and compliance standards.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical mindset, and the ability to effectively communicate complex data insights. Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration abilities
