Must-Haves:
- 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering
- OR 6 years of experience with a Masters In Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working with electric power systems
- At least 3-5 years of direct experience with electric system planning.
- Experience planning concepts and electric system analysis.
- Experience with Aspen, Tara, PSSE or PSS/E
- Experience with transmission planning studies
- NERC, FERC experience
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines.
Plusses:
- ISO experience preferred
- Experience with Electric Vehicle (EV) studies/projects and Earning Adjusted Mechanisms (EAM).
- Participation in industry conferences, stakeholder meetings, and technical committees.
Day-to-Day:
The Senior Engineer in Planning Engineering will be responsible for enhancing the safety and reliability of power systems, supporting NY/NJ clean energy objectives, and aligning long-term strategic plans.
Key tasks include:
- Finding clean energy projects and planning for the next ten years.
- Analyzing power needs and system performance.
- Developing solutions like new substations and transmission projects.
- Leading or supporting various clean energy and resilience projects.
- Providing support for operations and reviewing connection studies.
- Mentoring junior engineers and participating in industry events and meetings.
- Working with the Utility of the Future team on clean energy projects.
