If so, then you've come to the right place!General SummaryThis position is responsible for providing company wide support and guidance to proposal and project teams in all phases of the planning, development, submission, management, updating and analysis of CPM Schedules to insure conformance with company standard practices & project specifications.Essential Job Accountabilities - Assist and support inProposals and BidsReview project specific scheduling requirements and provide guidance to teamsTechnical proposal writing for scheduling subject matterDesign and development of the proposal/bid CPM ScheduleIndependently interprets and reads detailed construction drawings (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, etc.) and develops a clear understanding of work scopeNew ProjectsDesign and development of the project scheduleSubcontractor / vendor schedule guidanceSetup of Monthly Updating and Reporting proceduresPerforms QA/QC on schedule submittals for conformance with contract terms; reviews critical path, cost loading, resource loading of man-hours, schedule content, recovery schedules, use of logic relationships and lags, constraints and milestones. Existing ProjectsProvide Monthly Update support and guidanceRecognition and analysis of project impacts and delaysProvide support to project scheduling engineersDevelopment and maintenance of Project Controls procedures and Primavera P3/P6 desktop proceduresWork with project teams to complete as-built schedules, and in the case of delay, prepare fragnet & back up delay detailsLeads all project scheduling meetings ensuring appropriate representation of project management. Prepares detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and ensures distribution to appropriate staff.Analyze construction schedules and recommend workarounds and schedule improvement ideas.Performs schedule Time Impact Analysis for any change orders that affect the construction schedule; conducts schedule negotiations with the OAR and the contractor for any delay time settlementsReads drawings to determine if work is in or out of scope, and understands terms and conditions of the contract to determine if any compensable or non-compensable time extensions have meritScheduling Procedures and SoftwareDevelopment of scheduling standards and proceduresDevelopment and implementation of P6 Web toolProvide software tool trainingPerforms Program Schedule QA/QC reviews on a regular basisPerforms status updates for Program Schedules/Master Schedules on a bi-monthly basisSupervise Project Schedulers to ensure project timelines are met and interfaces with OARs, Senior Project Managers and other site staff and contractors related to the review of CPM s Develops and maintains program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for construction projects of various typesEducationBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Project Managementor 10+ years of Project Controls experience may be substituted for educationWork ExperienceExperience in performing/monitoring and reviewing/planning scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysisDemonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to planning and scheduling problems5+ years work experience in project level planning and schedulingKnowledge, skills, and abilitiesThorough knowledge of planning and scheduling for heavy civil projectsKnowledge/experience in heavy civil construction means and methodsAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and Primavera Latest VersionProven experience with cost and schedule databasesExceptional problem solving skills with consistent follow throughAbility to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlinesExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities with a close attention to detailSelf-starter; able to seek out resources and structure own workflowStrong consultative and communication skills and ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, staff and external customersUnderstand concepts of baseline schedule, progress schedule, recovered schedule, total float, critical path, predecessors, successors, near critical paths, float trending, percent complete, float ownership, and constraintsGeneral knowledge of construction principles/processes, field operations and ability to read construction plansPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
