Our client, a growing beauty brand, is looking for a Sr. Social Media Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. This person will lead social media channels, with a primary focus on Instagram and TikTok. This role is perfect for a creative individual who thrives on hands-on content creation while leveraging data to enhance brand storytelling. Youll oversee social media initiatives, focusing on building community and driving engagement through innovative content. This role reports into the Director of Marketing Communications.
This role is hybrid, 3 days onsite in Santa Monica, CA.
*hands on experience managing social media accounts for at least one elevated beauty and/or lifestyle brand is required*
What Youll Do:
Strategic Development: Create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that elevates our brand storytelling, with a strong emphasis on Instagram and TikTok.
Content Creation: Produce engaging and visually appealing content, including photography, video, and graphics specifically tailored for Instagram and TikTok, while being comfortable creating content for Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest as well. A creative content creation project including video and product image creation will be part of the interview process.
Analytics and Optimization: Utilize analytics tools to assess performance and refine social media strategies based on data-driven insights.
Community Engagement: Foster relationships with our audience through proactive engagement, responding to comments and messages to create a vibrant community around the brand.
Collaboration: Work closely with Brand & Product Marketing and Creative teams to ensure integrated and cohesive messaging across all channels.
Brand Advocacy: Uphold brand voice and messaging, ensuring consistency across all social media communications.
Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on emerging social media trends and tools, guiding your team to innovate and experiment effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Strategy: Develop a content calendar that aligns with product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns, focusing on Instagram and TikTok.
Campaign Execution: Drive the execution of social media campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals and messaging.
Team Collaboration: Support and mentor your team, encouraging creativity and fresh ideas while continuously improving processes.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelors degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field is typically preferred.
Portfolio of Work: Portfolio showcasing previous social media campaigns, content creation and experience is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years in social media marketing, with a strong emphasis on hands-on content creation and community management.
Creative Vision: A keen eye for visual storytelling and aesthetics, especially for Instagram and TikTok.
Hands-On Creative Mindset: Proficient in content creation and editing tools, with experience in social media management platforms (e.g. Capcut, Dashudson, Hootsuite, Sprout).
Analytical Mindset: Strong understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics to inform strategy. Experience using tools like Google Analytics, Dashudson, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Analytics.
Leadership Ability: While this role does not have direct reports, we are looking for proven experience leading cross-functional project groups and fostering collaboration.
Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams.
Project Management & Software: Experience with project management software like Wrike, Monday, Jira or Trello. Proficient in MS Office & Canva.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
