Inner Circle Sports is a boutique investment bank located in New York City and focused on advising in the sports, media and entertainment sectors. We focus on teams, leagues, stadiums and operating companies in sports, media and technology. Through our advisory practice we offer M&A, capital raising, financing and other services. The firm is looking to expand its stadium and arena financing practice and bring on a senior candidate with corporate and municipal finance experience.
Responsibilities
The Managing Director will be a “deal quarterback” on multiple transactions responsible for the evaluation and execution of facility finance and advisory transactions. The candidate's primary responsibilities will include stadium and arena funding transactions, evaluation of capital alternatives, and direct contact with both the private sector in sports as well as municipalities, including state and local governments. The candidate will be responsible for leading due diligence, structuring debt and equity, raising financing, negotiating and documentation. The candidate would have a range of activities across execution and origination. Accordingly, the successful candidate will have outstanding quantitative and communications skills. He/She should be able to independently manage most aspects of a transaction and seek the input or involvement of team members as appropriate. Candidates will be given a great deal of responsibility and autonomy, and will be expected to work in a self-directed manner.
Qualifications
With at least 10+ years of transactional finance experience, the successful candidate will most likely come with a municipal finance background. Previous experience in debt finance, municipal infrastructure and public-private partnerships, along with exposure to a variety of borrowers including state and local governments is preferred. It is essential that the candidate be highly intelligent, energetic and effective, and approach deals with a creative opportunistic orientation.
On a personal level, the successful candidate should be self-starting and resourceful. The candidate will be required to aggressively pursue deals, drive them to completion and proactively think of alternative deal structures that would maximize value to our clients. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, resourceful and comfortable working in a loosely structured entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation
A market competitive salary, plus a discretionary bonus based on performance.
