POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the General Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation of daily, monthly, and yearly journal entries for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) and its parent company, Southern Vermont Health Services Corp (SVHSC). This position performs a variety of accounting duties in connection with the month-end general ledger closing process and preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations.# #Monitors account transaction activity to ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenues and expenses.# Position provides support and backup for Accounts Payable. QUALIFICATION EDUCATION: Assertive, self-motivated team player with a Bachelor#s Degree in accounting. EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS: Two (2) to five (5) years of directly related recent professional experience preferred. Experience in healthcare and hospital finance preferred. Excellent computer skills with spreadsheets and word processing. Preferred knowledge of MultiView (GL), Paylocity/Kronos (Payroll), Cerner CommunityWorks (EHR) and database reporting, a plus. Excellent organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must be customer service focused. Ability to work effectively in teams. Ability to positively internalize constructive feedback for professional development.
