EP Management, Inc is the Advisor to Edgewood REIT and is responsible for the day to day management of the REIT and its assets.
Edgewood REIT is a North Dakota based real estate investment trust. Since its founding in 2010, the REIT's investment objective is to acquire quality healthcare properties, medical office buildings and multi-family assets, which provide a strong rate of return to its shareholder base.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledgers for parent and subsidiary entities, processing accounts payable & accounts receivable, preparing monthly bank reconciliations, reconciling general ledger accounts, and compiling monthly financial statements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable Process
• Post invoices within NetSuite accounting software to the proper entities and accounts.
• Generate vendor payments on a weekly basis.
• Maintain processes and systems to organize and store supplemental financial data.
Accounts Receivable Process
• Generate invoices within NetSuite.
• Receive payments and make bank deposits.
• Record receivable collections in NetSuite.
Bank Reconciliations
• Monthly reconciliation of cash accounts within NetSuite.
General Ledger Reconciliations
• Import/journalize monthly entries for properties and post other adjusting entries as needed.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and long-term debt.
• Update fixed asset software and reconcile to NetSuite.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or other business fields from a four-year college or a similar two-year degree with relevant prior work experience.
• 0-3 years of experience, with real estate experience preferred.
• Familiarity and working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) regulations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & DESIGNATIONS
• CPA certification or working towards a certification preferred, but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (with or without reasonable accommodation)
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to learn new accounting and depreciation software
• Prior experience with NetSuite software
