Description:Licensed midwives in the community birth setting care for clients during the course of prenatal, labor, postpartum, and newborn care. Additionally, midwives provide inclusive well-person care, comprehensive family planning services, support shared decision-making and physiologic birth, and participate in quality assurance functions in accordance with practice policies and accreditation standards as dictated by the Commission for Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC).The full-time Staff Midwife will have two (2) nine-hour office days that also encompass an 8a-8p call shift and three to four (3-4) additional 12-hour call shifts each week, including rotating weekend call. Although this position involves significant call, the midwife can expect to attend an average of approximately four to six (4-6) eight (8)-hour labors per month.Our birth center is committed to addressing inequities in healthcare for marginalized people-including but not limited to people of color and LGBTQAI+ people.
