Job DescriptionThe Hearst Visual Group is looking for a Staff Photographer/Videographer to join the team. This position will shoot for the print and digital versions of multiple brands and divisions within the Hearst Corporation, with an emphasis on Cosmopolitan. The ideal candidate will have experience shooting celebrities, models, portraits, and industry events. Candidate must be an engaged and enthusiastic team player who is well versed and passionate about photography and video. This position is required to be in the office/on-set up to 5 days per week and will report to the Visual Director of Cosmopolitan.Responsibilities
- Shoot for multiple brands with an emphasis on Cosmopolitan.
- Shoot in studio and on location.
- Work closely and collaboratively with visual editors, art departments and brand editors.
- Create mood boards for shoots.
- Deliver final shoots and videos on deadline.
- Retouch images.
- Implement all Hearst Studio workflows and protocols.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Hearst Studios, equipment, and grip.
- Upload and archive final images, which includes inputting accurate metadata.
- Produce shoots and do photo research for Cosmopolitan on days not shooting.
- Help with all Hearst Studio needs on days not shooting.
Qualifications
- Must have a photography portfolio and examples of video.
- Must have strong lighting skills.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One and video editing software.
- Proficiency with Canon cameras and Profoto lighting.
- Experience shooting video and editing.
- Must exhibit professionalism, initiative, and resourcefulness.
- Must be proactive and detail oriented.
- Ability to work calmly in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be adaptable and accommodating.
- Must be a creative thinker and a self-starter.
The base salary for this role is $67-$75k The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
