Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) ED - Emergency Department for a nursing job in Bronx, New York. Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek. As an integral part of the team, and contact person for the Care Center, the Business Associate is responsible for the business aspects of a patient's stay and the patient centered care within the Care Center. These activities include; capacity management program functions, pre-admitting and admitting, registration, maintaining census information, chart maintenance and completion, scheduling, OR/procedure booking, performing unit reception duties, and other duties as needed. 1.High School graduate or equivalent 2.Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the carecenter. 3.Six to nine months of health care-related experience in order to become familiar with health carepolicies and procedures. 4.Knowledge of keyboarding and basic computer skills 5.Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. 6.Successful completion of Business Associate training program and competency based orientation. 7.Knowledge of insurance.
