Ambarella, the worldwide leader in AI vision, HD and 4K video, is on a mission to bring AI and computer vision to all types of devices, from security cameras to smart buildings to robots to autonomous cars.

Our marketing team in Santa Clara is looking for a passionate individual to join our team and help us bring our AI vision to life.

Working across all of our AI vision processing market segments-automotive, security, consumer, and IoT/industrial/robotics-the Staff Technical Writer and Editor will interface with the marketing and engineering teams in the US and Asia to obtain key source material. From there, he/she is responsible for editing, combining, organizing, formatting, and streamlining the source material into clear, effective documents that adhere to Ambarella's style guide and engage target audiences. He/she will be responsible for updating existing documentation such as datasheets, system hardware, programming reference manuals, and API documentation, in addition to SDK materials as product changes occur.

Expectation:

* Proofread, edit, and rewrite documents in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word

Requirements:

* 8-10 years of experience in technical editing/documentation

* BA/BS in English, communications, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent

* Mandatory three days onsite

* Experience in editing technical material written by non-native English speakers

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Highly detailed organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines

* Ability to take ownership of projects and identify key requirements and resources

* Expert in MS Word/Open Office and PowerPoint

* Experience with Adobe InDesign

* Writing/editing samples from previous work-including technical material/instructions with consistent formatting and typographical conventions-that demonstrates engaging headlines and subheadings, proofreading, and comprehensive editing for spelling, grammar, and brand consistency

* Must work in our Santa Clara, CA offices 3 days a week.

Additional Experience:

* Working for a semiconductor, systems, or software company deploying SDKs to multiple customers is a plus

* Documenting hardware

* Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator

* Using document management systems

The base range is $140,000-$152,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to convert to a full time regular position.
