Position Summary:

The Staffing Coordinator/Scheduler is repsonsible for maintaining adequate staff for the facility. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Assists in recruiting, selection, and training of potential employees and ensures all staffing needs are met

2. Coordinates, monitors, and adjust schedules for nursing departments as required, including daily, weekly, and monthly, also covering vacation and holidays

3. Recommends to the Administrator the number and level of personnel to be employed

4. Assist in determining nursing staff, evaluates employee performance to DON and Administrator concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, and transfers

5. Check application and references of prospective employees and arranges for interviews

6. Attends departmental meetings, in-services, educational meeting, and on-the-job training

7. Ensures that appropriate training records are maintained for nursing staff

8. Maintains job applications for personnel eligible to work in the facility (including job applications, resumes, reference checks

9. Maintains confidentially of all pertinent personnel information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as facility policies and procedure

10. Maintains nursing schedules as appropriate

11. Stays well-informed of staffing needs as census increases or decreases

12. Assist in hiring personnel in accordance with established hiring practices

13. Other related duties as assigned by Administrator/Director of Nursing
