EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.

Job Summary:

The Staffing Specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire recruitment process for both W-2 employees and Independent Contractors, ensuring the timely and effective placement of qualified candidates into various roles within the organization. This role requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, a keen eye for talent, and the ability to build strong relationships with both candidates and hiring managers.

Essential Functions

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent. This includes using various sourcing methods such as job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals.
  • Conduct thorough job analyses to understand the specific requirements of each position, ensuring that job descriptions accurately reflect the responsibilities and qualifications needed.
  • Create and post job advertisements across multiple platforms to reach a diverse pool of candidates.

Candidate Screening and Evaluation:

  • Review resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and criteria for the job.
  • Conduct initial phone or video screenings to assess candidates' experience, skills, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and ensure a smooth interview process.

Interview Process Management:

  • Develop interview guides and assessment tools to aid Hiring Managers in making informed decisions.
  • Facilitate interview debrief meetings to gather feedback from interviewers and discuss next steps.
  • Perform reference checks and background verifications as needed.

Candidate Relationship Management:

  • Maintain communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing updates and feedback in a timely manner.
  • Create a positive candidate experience by being responsive, professional, and engaging.
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for future hiring needs by nurturing relationships with potential candidates.

Collaboration with Hiring Managers:

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance on effective recruitment practices.
  • Advise on market trends, salary benchmarks, and hiring best practices to ensure competitive offers.
  • Assist in negotiating employment offers and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Generate regular reports on recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate source effectiveness.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the recruitment process and implement necessary changes.
Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field and or equivalent education, training, and experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in onboarding, HR, or a related role, preferably in a transportation, logistics or warehousing environment.
  • 1-2 years' experience as a staffing specialist, recruiter, or similar role.
  • Experience in working with both W-2 Employees and Independent Contractors strongly preferred.

Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes and candidate evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software; Paylocity preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to articulate and convey information effectively in both group and individual situations.
  • High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of training methodologies and e-learning platforms
