JOB DESCRIPTION

This position functions as an administrative manager of one or more agency-designated, Group 4 sections (work areas with less than decisional or office standing) and reports to a division, office, bureau, or senior deputy director supporting and enhancing the planning presence and decision-making capability in the department?s Metro Region which encompasses the Detroit metropolitan area.

Serve as a first line manager for region communication staff and as a second line manager to region planning staff. This position supports and enhances the planning and communication presence as part of the Region Leadership Team (RLT) in the department?s Metro Region which encompasses Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties including City of Detroit. This position works with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) teams on public and stakeholder engagement by developing, executing and monitoring engagement plans and strategies to help incorporate and address comments while delivering MDOT?s projects and programs effectively and efficiently to support MDOT?s mission.

This position represents the Metro Region in complex permits (e.g., large scale developments, multifaceted projects/installations, major impacts to traffic or the community) and regional significant projects to support community and engagement initiatives, and acts as a liaison between MDOT, political officials, partners, stakeholders, and the public. Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and agreements to support MDOT internal and external customers, partners, stakeholders, communities, and agencies, and work together with these entities to deliver complex permits and regionally significant projects.

The Salary listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the State Administrative Manager 15 position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEEducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major.ExperienceFour years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.ALTERNATE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEEducation level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION
