We are seeking an experienced Miscellaneous and Architectural Steel Project Manager with extensive knowledge of the design, submittal and approval of shop drawings, material procurement, shop fabrication and erection of all types of metal products used in commercial construction such as, but not limited to, stairs, railings, platforms and overhead supporting structures.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Schedule Management: Oversee, coordinate, and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all project milestones. Recognize whether the deliverables/tasks are on track. Communicate any change in schedules and address items that are not on schedule.
  • Safety: Create site-specific safety plans and JHA's. Monitors the overall safety and quality issues on the project.
  • Design Review: Evaluate design drawing revisions to identify and manage scope changes effectively.
  • Change Management: Prepare and submit pricing for change order requests.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with onsite trades to identify and resolve field issues.
  • On-site presence: Have on-site presence at the project site at all time.
  • Procurement: Draft and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.
  • Manages assigned projects including working with local team to develop processes for delivering total solutions.
  • Production: Responsible for managing the project productivity, schedule, costs, quality and safety consistent with company policies and practices.
  • Coordination: Manage the coordination of construction drawings and models, and review submittals for compliance and accuracy.
  • Shop Drawing: Review design and construction drawings prior to drafter assignment for consistency and possible RFIs. Provide guidance to assigned drafter to produce shop drawings. Review all drawings prior to submitting to clients.
  • Client and Vendor Relations: Conduct job site visits to foster strong relationships with clients and vendors, ensuring alignment on project goals, enhancing company's ability to procure projects, reduce risk, and ensure operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of education and professional project management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant amounts of information regarding plan layouts, material deliveries and job productivities.
  • Have basic understanding of all projects scopes (electrical, structural, etc.).
  • Have a strong understanding of construction projects.
  • Responsible for post-project review, metrics sharing and lessons learned.
  • Provide field support until completion of the project. Utilize a preemptive approach across project to anticipate and address challenges proactively.
  • Understand project requirements such as OCIP/CCIP, tax exemptions, workforce and contract diversity goals, certified payrolls, etc.
  • Understand and process field work orders, RFIs, pay applications, change orders, submittals, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of the change order process and the ability to negotiate contracts and change orders.
  • Experience in Bluebeam.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Thorough knowledge of job costs; complete monthly forecasting of projects; monitor project metrics, including labor metrics.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications (is a Plus)
  • Experienced developing and delivering sales presentations and negotiating contracts in the construction industry are a plus.
  • Estimate/bid projects; Capable of thorough analysis of project document requirements, vendor offers, negotiate with key vendors for competitive pricing.
  • Experience in CAD, Revit, Advance Steel, and Tekla.

Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 per year
