Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is an independent, non-profit rural healthcare system serving 10 counties in northeastern South Dakota and west-central Minnesota. Job Summary This is a full-time position that will work to maintain proper sterilization and decontamination of equipment in the operating room. Wage range: $16.25-$26.00 Responsibilities include:
  • Performs decontamination, assembly, wrapping, and disinfection/sterilizing of all reusable items
  • Receives, cleans, assembles, wraps, disinfects, and sterilizes reusable equipment
  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures and checks for the proper mechanical performance of equipment
  • Assures the availability and integrity of sterile OR instruments by inventory, rotation, proper storage, and proper distribution practices
  • Examines instruments for damage and routes to the appropriate area for repair

Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Medical assistant, surgical technologist or other healthcare education preferred. Will be expected to become certified in sterile processing following one year of employment. Prairie Lakes Healthcare System has a Drug Free Workplace Policy.
