What you'll doThe Sterile Processing Supervisor is accountable for all activities in the Central processing Dept. Performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Works as liaison between surgeons and staff.
- Responsible for all supplies necessary to keep the OR/Endo scheduled cases intact
- Responsible for sterilization and documentation of instruments and supplies
- Coordinates all CPD activities and provides staff orientation & supervision
- Surgical Tech Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation
- Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy related to procedure
- Demonstrates knowledge of techniques used by various surgeons for various procedures
- Able to assemble and troubleshoot all equipment as necessary for procedure
- Ensures all necessary equipment is in the room prior to the start of a case
- Able to safely operate all electrosurgical equipment, diagnostic equipment, microscopic laser equipment, video equipment, and disposable equipment, as well as equipment unique to each specialty area
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of asepsis and consistently maintains sterile technique
- Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization and disinfection, as evidenced by practice
- Demonstrates an understanding of operating room sanitation and assists in its maintenance
- Handles all surgical specimens appropriately
- Monitors for and calls attention to breaks in technique. Communicates to circulating RN surgeons breaks in technique
- In conjunction with the RN, conducts accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to departmental policies
- Performs surgical scrub according to departmental policies
- Assists in the positioning of patients and maintains their safety
- Monitors skin integrity and communicates to circulating RN
- Surgical Team Lead Responsibilities:
- Create preference cards for all surgeons/services
- Update preference cards for all surgeons/services
- Act as liaison for surgeons and staff on equipment/instruments
- Assist in checking par levels/making sure necessary implants/instruments are available for cases
What we need from youEducation:
- High School or GED, required
Experience:
- 5 years experience as a Sterile Processing Tech, required
Licensure/Certifications:
- BLS Certification, required
- Certification as Certified Surgical Technologist, required
Skills:

Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

- Frequent grasping, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking
