AlliedTravelCareers is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Sterile Processing Tech in Rochester, New York, 14642!About The Position**Job Title:** Allied Sterile Processing Technician**Job Specialty:** Sterile Processing Department Technician**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** Evening Shift, Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, weekends as needed**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week**Experience:** Minimum of 3 years in a sterile processing technician role**License:** None specified**Certifications:** Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD), Basic Life Support (BLS)**Must-Have:**- Large hospital experience (500+ beds)- Travel experience (6 months)- Two professional references from recent experiences**Job Description:**- Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, technical equipment, and surgical case carts.- Select appropriate methods for packaging and sterilization, consulting with the Processing Manager as necessary.- Examine surgical instrumentation for cleanliness and proper function; ensure correct assembly of instrument sets per ESI software program protocols.- Handle instruments to ensure sterilization, completing count/supply sheets to document tray contents.- Operate steam sterilizers according to established procedures, frequently checking time, pressure, and temperature gauges to maintain proper levels.- Load and unload sterilizers, placing items on shelves for distribution.- Perform simple maintenance of sterilizers, such as cleaning drain baskets.- Ensure sterility by preparing cultures, reviewing test packs processed, interpreting results, and completing required documentation.- Check and adjust medical equipment according to procedures to ensure correct operation; send non-compliant equipment for repair.- Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols to prevent cross-contamination.- Set up decontamination equipment, clean and disinfect equipment and work area, and handle infectious waste following set protocols.- Receive and store supplies from vendors and hospital areas, checking stock as received and documenting discrepancies.- Document and fill orders for surgical supplies and deliver them when necessary.- Maintain records of equipment inventory, usage frequency, and equipment referred for repair.- Perform quality assurance checks on all sterile supplies and instruments, sterility dates, and accuracy of procedure carts.- Responsible for critical documentation such as biologicals and sterilizer load sheets.**Preferred Experience:**- Level 1 trauma center experience- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)- Experience with orthopedic trays9469840EXPPLATJob RequirementsRequired for Onboarding
