Job Description*This position is 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays as required.The Sterile Processing Tech 1 will become acquainted with and understand CSP procedures. This includes Decontamination, Prep and Pack, picking of case carts, sterilizing instruments and operating CSP equipment properly and safely. The SPD Tech 1 also will become acquainted with and understand the process of supplying materials to the OR accurately and in a timely manner. Employee will work independently when Orientation has been completed.Salary Range:$22.40 - $27.55 an hourThe referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerationsJob RequirementsQualifications:Education: High school diploma or GED required. Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited Central Service Technician certification program (CRCST or CSPDT); or is otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law (i.e., candidate provides evidence that he/she worked as Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 1, 2015); or becomes CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 18 months of hire or transfer into the role.Experience: Sterile Processing or Materials Processing preferredLicense/Certification: CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 18 months of hire or transfer into the role.Skills: Able to understand written and oral direction as well as interpret equipment operation instructions.
