Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
The Sterile Processing Technician performs a variety of central sterile processing functions, which include the decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to the operating room (OR) and other areas throughout the hospital. Required to maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies, and identify and remedy equipment and process failures and hazards while maintaining the appropriate and complete records. Works as high functioning member of a team supporting clinics and procedural areas. Provides cleaning and sterilization support for research related and IRB approved instrumentation. Supports high level disinfection procedures.
