Sterile Processing Technician - Full TimeRequired Education and Experience: High School graduate or GED. Central Sterile Supply Technician Certification or Technician. CPR certification.Essential Functions:Working Environment: Demonstrates ability to follow safety standards according to established guidelines such as OSHA, ANSI, and AAAMI. Reports pertinent observations regarding accidents and unsafe environmental conditions, such as malfunctioning equipment and pests. Adheres to policies of infection control by following proper personal hygiene and hand washing procedures, as well as contaminated and isolation procedures. Uses standard precautions for infection control when handling contaminated instruments.Instrument Care: Accelerates turnover of cases by following the schedule and assisting in the removal of dirty instruments from rooms as needed. Recognizes and is familiar with instruments, power tools, basin sets, trays, etc. Inspects for defective parts or malfunctions, responsible for sending for repair, and keeping records in the Log Book. Cleans and lubricates instruments according to special needs.Assembling and Sterilizing: Assembles instruments into sets, packages according to size and organization, labels correctly, sterilizes using proper methods, and stores items properly.Sterilization Methods and Standards: Understands the procedure for operating High Pressure Steam Sterilizers and sterilization for immediate use. Loads items in an accepted manner and selects the proper dial setting. Checks indicators for proper functioning and keeps the unit clean and polished. Reports malfunctions to the Director/Manager or designee immediately.#J-18808-Ljbffr
