About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our Central Service Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met in the processing and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation, loaner equipment, and supplies for the Operating Rooms, Maternity, Emergency Department, and throughout the hospital.
- Perform chemical, mechanical, and biological testing of disinfection and sterilization equipment.
- Assist and collaborate with the Operating Room staff in the revision of surgical instrument kits.
- Act as a resource for technicians for instrument identification, kit assembly, and other department processes.
- Manage loaner instrumentation process.
- Monitor total joint and other consignment instrumentation for completeness.
- Verify sterilization cycles, biological tests, and associated documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Effective written and verbal communications skills required.
- Successful completion of Central Processing Technology Course or Surgical Technician Program required.
- At least four (4) years of sterile processing experience required performing all Sterile Processing functions within an operative setting.
- Endoscopy experience preferred.
