This 13-week contract position offers the possibility of extension and requires a professional who is dedicated to ensuring the safe sterilization and preparation of medical instruments and equipment. You will work day shifts, with a 4-day work week, 10-hour shifts, providing essential support to healthcare professionals and ensuring patient safety through proper sterilization processes.*Key Responsibilities:** Sterilize, disinfect, and package surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols and safety standards.* Maintain and document accurate records of sterilization processes, including sterilizer readings and biological testing results.* Inspect sterilized instruments and equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and condition, ensuring they are ready for use.* Follow infection control practices and safety procedures to prevent contamination and ensure a sterile environment.* Organize and maintain sterile storage areas, ensuring items are easily accessible and stocked as needed.* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient supply of sterile instruments and equipment for medical procedures.* Perform regular maintenance and testing on sterilization equipment to ensure its proper functioning.*Requirements:** *Experience:* At least 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.* *Certifications:** CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required.* BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.* COVID-19 vaccination card required.*Additional Skills and Attributes:** Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise procedures.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment or sterilization issues.* Knowledge of infection control standards and regulatory guidelines in sterile processing.* Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with medical staff and other team members.Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $1,730.00 - $1,780.00 per weekMedical Specialty:* Neurology* Perioperative Care* Surgery* UrologySchedule:* 10 hour shift* 4x10* Day shiftExperience:* Sterile Processing Technician: 2 years (Required)License/Certification:* BLS Certification from AHA (Required)* CRCST,CBSPD (Required)Ability to Commute:* California (Preferred)Willingness to travel:* 25% (Preferred)Work Location: On the road
