Job Description:
Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.
Essential Functions
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes
- Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
- Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
- Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.

Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit (as required by State) or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work.
- Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions
- Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
- Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$18.29 - $21.88
