Job DescriptionSUMMARY Lens Pick Clerk will pull the appropriate lenses from the lens inventory bins in order to fulfill the requirement for each RX. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Duties are general to most departments. Duties may vary per department.
- Prioritizing of work based on start dates, follow all SOP's
- Sort the trays/sleeves for the appropriate row by bin location
- Pick the correct lenses from the bins for the RX
- Scan the trays to properly decrement inventory
- Send the trays to the designated area
- Assist in restocking the inventory
- Assist in cycle counting when necessary
- Collating the work to ready it for lens picking
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, most positions will require the employee to stand and use hands to manipulate or handle lenses or lab trays. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. During maintenance, employee required to squat, stretch, twist, bend, and be able to work inside tight areas.
Safety Requirements
- Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program.
- Closed toe shoe required with heel support.
- While performing the duties of certain jobs, the employee may be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. In the Hard Coating area an employee is regularly exposed to caustic chemicals and heat. All proper PPE is provided.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must wear safety glasses, gloves and/or finger cuffs as required by the task.

- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- No Experience required
- Experience in the Optical Industry as it relates to ophthalmic lenses is a plus
- Experience in general manufacturing a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able and willing to work as a team
- Basic math
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed (may include weekends or holidays)
- Good hand to eye coordination
- Able to read and write English language
- Experience or knowledge working with automated equipment is a plus, but not required
- Problem solving skills helpful
- Ability to work without constant supervision
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time
