Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.org.CLASS DEFINITIONA Storekeeper II Auto Parts receives, stores and distributes automotive parts. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in a garage and warehouse where there is exposure to fumes, corrosive materials, heat and cold. Work requires some bending, lifting, pushing and hauling of heavy stock items.SELECTION PROCESSAll candidates indicating the minimum qualifications on their applications will be placed on the eligible list without further examination. Qualified candidates will not be listed in rank order.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOn or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:EDUCATION: Have graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.ANDEXPERIENCE: Have two years of experience in storing and issuing automotive parts.OREQUIVALENCY NOTES: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES: Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license, or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management is required. PROVISIONAL DRIVER'S LICENSE ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.NOTE: YOU MUST UPLOAD A COPY OF YOUR VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH APPLICATION AT TIME OF APPLYING.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Fleet Management Division preferred qualifications entail the following:* Have two years of experience in identifying, storing, and issuing automotive parts* Have graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES* Knowledge of methods and procedures for receiving, issuing, storing and shipping automotive parts and materials.* Maintaining and updating parts records.* Ability to operate material handling equipment.* Ability to utilize standard business computer software programs and the internet to perform routine research and to enter and maintain inventory and distribution records.* Knowledge of automotive parts groups and utilizing parts catalogs.* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, City agency personnel and associates.EXAMINATION PROCESSApplicants must provide sufficient information on their application to show that they meet the qualifications for this recruitment.
